Biographical Information:

Claire was born in Grenoble, France, and grew up in Arras. She studied at Chimie ParisTech, an engineering school specializing in chemistry, and graduated in 2019 with a master’s degree in molecular chemistry from Sorbonne Université too. She then pursued a PhD at Université Paris Cité in Dr. Micouin’s group, in collaboration with Sanofi, focusing on the development of small molecules to target RNA. This research sparked her interest in RNA, leading her to UNC for a postdoctoral position with Dr. Laederach and Dr. Weeks, in 2023. Her current work centers on identifying which RNA to target by studying pre-mRNA structure of women related diseases.

Outside of her professional interests, Claire loves Paris, her favorite city to explore and find chocolate. She also enjoys pole dancing, cooperative board games, and spending time with her friends and family.
